Course Overview

If you'd love to progress your career in Health and Social Care, the Access to Higher Education Diploma (Health and Social Care) is a level 3 qualification designed to prepare you to study for a Health and Social Care degree. If you don’t have the grades you need to apply for university, an Access to HE Diploma will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need.

This course is specifically designed to put you on the pathway to study a degree in Health and Social Care. You'll learn core knowledge that will prepare you for your degree including nutrition, the musculoskeletal system, psychology, and social factors in health care.

Eligibility Criteria

This course is government funded, you must meet the following criteria to be able to study for free:

  • You must currently live in England    
  • You must have been resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years, for purposes other than study    
  • You must be over the age of 19  
    • If you are between 19-23 you are eligible regardless of employment status
    • If you are 24+ you will only be eligible if you earn less than £25,000
      • Learners earning below £25,000 will be entitled funding for Level 3 qualifications
      • Learners earning above £25,000 will be required to take out an Advanced Learner Loan
Assessment Method

An Access to HE Diploma is made up of units that offer 45 graded credits and 15 ungraded credits. You will complete a number of assignments as part of your modules that will form your electronic portfolio. You will be assessed via formal written assignments, that will create a portfolio of work.

Throughout your course, you'll be expected to join live online classes, as well as study independently. You'll have the support of one of our specialist tutors throughout your programme.

They provide you with a good level of knowledge and skills so that you feel prepared to start a degree.
